Wanted to open this up to everyone else for comments:

I like GB but I'm not sure if I have the courage to pull the trigger. On paper I believe GB will be an even better team than they were last year - and they didn't really end up that far behind of carolina in the end. They both went on big tears over their last few games of the season with carolina beating arizona, detroit, the Giants, and Dallas - and GB beating Chicago, SD, Oakland, Denver, and Seattle. The major difference being that GB lost AT philly (by THREE) and Carolina beat philly (14-3) - BUT in that 11 point win McNabb was out for the 4th quarter, and if I remember correctly he was hurt badly in the 2nd quarter and was not the same for the rest of the game (a common playoff appearance for Mr. Mcnabb).

GB and Car are relatively even teams - with gains on the GB side for both offense and Defense - and in my opinion what would seem to be some slight losses on the carolina defense side - with notable changes in the secondary (that really havent been so great in the little we have seen them in the preseason.

The major question in my mind is the health of Amahn Green who I believe went down with a leg injury at some point this preseason...

I think I am gonna wait till gametime to place this bet if I bet it at all - because if there are rumors that he is not 100% then this game might be a toss up - given the probable crowd factor that is likely to greet the first return of this team home since the first game of the playoffs last year.

I like GB +3 and the over 43.5, Jaypaw. Agree with your analysis, hope Green is healthy.

Going by last season (possibly misleading, but what else do we have to go by?), GB was 11-7 ATS, 6-3 ATS on the road, and 3-1 ATS as an underdog.

Conversely, Carolina was 10-10 ATS, 3-6 ATS at home, and 3-8 ATS as a favorite. I think their offense is good enough to score on GB's D, and we expect GB will score on everyone.

All points to GB +3 and over 43.5. Can anyone talk me out of these plays?

Why, InSpades? Just because he is getting old? I'm not a Favre homer, I just am curious to know your reasoning.

I would say the forum is about 50/50 right now. This game truely is a very close game. Hence the even split, small line, and numbers that both sides have thrown out to be convinced they are correct.

It's a tough call.
